How a complete newbie learns how an Internet business works in 15 minutes
When I first came out with a prototype of this game, I got my
brother to be the guinea pig. *Grins* He likes playing games anyway, so he didn't
mind trying out the new game for me.
Bear in mind that he is a complete newbie. He didn't know how all these
Internet marketing stuff works.
Predictably, he started the game and immediately lost money. I stood beside him and gave
him some hints. He changed his strategy and 15 minutes later, he exclaimed,
"Hey! I got it! The key to winning this game is _______!" He went on to complete the game and
became a virtual Internet millionaire.
Now, my brother was only interested in having fun. If he's interested in
making any money online, the next step he would take is to simply figure out what
actions he had taken to start seeing positive results. You can do this
by going to your game history.
I then went around bugging a few friends and asked them to test out the game for me. All of
them are complete newbies.
The results were always the same. They started by choosing all the wrong stuff
to do and lost money. But the best part is, in order to beat the game, they
began to ask questions.
"Hey, what is this? How does it work? etc etc..."
To get their answers, they had to read all the money making tips that are
included in the game.
As a result, they started learning a great deal about how to build, develop
and market their virtual real estate in a relatively short period of time.
I get an immense sense of satisfaction when I see them learn. Makes me kind of wish
somebody had done something like that when I was just starting out.
More About Why I Created This Game
I knew I've always wanted to do something online. I first heard about the Internet
10 years ago.
I was fascinated with the Internet from day 1. I was hooked. I could find information
easily online and I could connect with friends in a chat room. I even remember organizing one
of the largest IRC meetings. It was fun.
Before long, I started learning about how to create my own webpage. I still
remember getting all excited over a little HTML book that I bought from a second hand
book store.
To hone my skills, I started offering my web design services for free. Soon, I was learning how to
make Flash websites. Flash was big back in those days. It's still big now, but in a very
different way.
Eager to show off my skills, I joined a web design competition and won first prize.
Yes, there was this nice fuzzy feeling :)
Since then, I've worked in several organizations and the funny thing is, every job
I hold is related to the Internet. The only job that's non-Internet related is selling
insurance. I did that to learn more about selling.
No matter what job I held, I never lost interest in the Internet. My strong fascination
with the medium kept drawing me back. I finally had to make a decision to go into an Internet
business full-time. That was 2 years ago.
Fast forward to the present, I think I did ok. But believe me, it wasn't all a bed of roses
when you're learning how to sell online. Especially when you don't have the big picture.
I created VRE Empire(TM) so that new marketers will have an easier time learning
how to sell online and I seriously want them to see results FASTER than I did.
That's why I don't hold back any information. I give everything. I want YOU to be successful.
The more I learn, the more I share. I can promise you that.
And finally, I really love what I'm doing now. I've created literally
hundreds of websites and will possibly continue to create websites for as long as I am able to.
